Service Description

Facilitation is a core leadership skill: it is practical, powerful, and underrated. When people are brought together intentionally, they can start to understand problems more thoroughly, make progress through complexity, and shape better outcomes for their teams, organisations, and society. This program will enable you to practice and hone essential facilitation skills through real experience, rigorous frameworks, and a community of peers. The Art of Facilitation is designed for everyday leaders: people who run meetings, lead teams, convene stakeholders, or bring groups together to make progress on things that matter. You don't need to be a professional facilitator, just curious and willing to explore a new way of leading. What's included: - A personal intro call to explore your context and goals - A virtual launch session to meet your cohort - A two-day immersive workshop in Canberra — 22–23 July - A contemporary facilitation toolkit to keep and use - A personal facilitation challenge in your own workplace - A small group coaching session - A half-day extension workshop - A one-on-one debrief and action planning session Your facilitators: Kathy Hilyard and Mary-Claire McDonald bring decades of combined experience in leadership development, facilitation, and coaching across the public, health, not-for-profit, and corporate sectors. Kathy has a 30-year track record designing and leading leadership initiatives, including as national lead partner at a Big 4 firm. Mary-Claire is an experienced facilitator with specialist expertise in complex facilitation, leadership development, and organisation culture. Together, they bring deep knowledge, warmth, and a genuinely contemporary approach to using facilitation as a core leadership skill. What you'll take away: - Facilitation skills and practices that are practical and useful for you in your role, - Tools and frameworks you can apply straight away - Real facilitation experience, with feedback and peer support
